IFA Cup

This year's IFA cup was played on the 21st of May saw a star-studed staff line-up take to the field, including two professors, a doctor, and international representation from Scandinavia, Africa, Great Britain and Belgium.

Despite this, the students still managed to edge out their more experienced opponents, by a narrow 3-goal margin. The staff tactics of slowly exhausting the student team looked to count in their favour, as a 5-goal lead shrunk dramatically towards the end of the game.

Questions will of course be asked about the impartiality of the referee, as one dubious handball in the penalty area was awarded, and another denied.

All in all, a fun day was had by all, and the staff would like to congratulate the students on a well-deserved victory!

Take a look at some pictures from the day here.

Hosted by the Department of Dutch and South African Studies.
