An escape, though only momentary, is what drugs also offer. No matter what the consequences and regardless of the fact that tomorrow one will have to face those difficulties anyway, people often resort to drugs when they just want to forget about something which seems beyond them at that particular moment. It helps but unfortunately only for a short while.
