The truth about the incurable illness belongs to the ill man as much as it belongs to the relatives. Truth, even the painful truth, is always worth telling. It can make nothing but good. It lets the ill man die in an atmosphere of love and trust. That is very important for both sides. A lie creates an atmosphere of distrust and suspection, and because of that it should be strongly condemned.
