Simpson in Newsweek) and films, which are luridly packed with shotgun blasts, fighting, bloodshed, aestheticize violence and glamorize the coldest people. The media make us shallow, acquisitive, less responsible, indifferent, cold about life and death, help us acquire a precocious taste for sex, drugs and excitement. They glorify the culture of consumption seduce young people, make them impatient with parental discipline. Not only do media corrupt youngsters directly, but also undermine the family by constantly raising the definition of a standard of life.
