Simple lexical queries

Words denote any non-hyphenated strings of character letters.
This means: hyphens are word separators, NOT word-internal symbols.

Special characters in Simple lexical queries (Word/Phrase Search):
_ (underscore)	= obligatory word, or its part (non-hyphenated)
@ (‘at’ sign)	= optional part of a word (non-hyphenated)
+ (‘plus’ sign)	= any word separator (also a hyphen)
+2, +3, etc.	= up to 2, 3 etc. (non-hyphenated) words dividing a collocation

complain@	any complete word beginning with complain, including complain (possibly a word family search)
complain_	any complete word beginning with complain, excluding complain
@pack	any complete word ending with pack, including pack
_pack	any complete word ending with pack, excluding pack
long lasting	phrase (long lasting) with words separated by space
long+lasting	phrase also when hyphenated (long lasting, long-lasting)
as a _ of	frame as a X of (with spaces between words)
as+a+_+of	frame as a X of (with any word separators)
_+lasting	any combination of two words, also a hyphenated compound, in which the second element is lasting, e.g. long lasting, long-lasting, ever-lasting (but NOT everlasting)
_-_	any hyphenated compound (two or more elements)
_-_-_	any hyphenated compound of three or more elements (e.g. down-to-earth)
go\|went\|gone\|goes	any member of the lemma GO
suggestion\|suggestions\|proposal\|proposals	lemmatised search for two synonyms
far+5concerned	any phrase/expression containing far and concerned with up to 5 (non-hyphenated) words in between
far+_+_+_+concerned	any phrase/expression containing far and concerned with exactly 3 (non-hyphenated) words in between
(go\|went\|gone\|goes)+4mad	lemmatised collocation GO mad with up to 4 words in between
counter_	any word with nonhyphenated prefix

_ish_	words with ish in the middle
_-of-_	any word (three-element compound) with -of- in the middle
niż	Polish word niż
nikt\|nikogo\|nikomu\|nikim	Polish lemma NIKT

*Simple queries may contain some features of the regular expression syntax. Such patterns look far from ‘simple’, however, and are not reported here.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The Perl Concordancer comes in two versions: 1) open/free/public/general access; and 2) restricted.
Options only available in the restricted version:
> access to some special corpora
> display not limited to 50 random lines
> annotation boxes for manual marking/removal of lines
> wider context view
> collocate counting
One query syntax is used with both English and Polish corpora.
Simple lexical queries (default) and regular expression queries can be used.
> Simple searches may employ specially defined symbols (see above)
> Simple search queries always highlight complete words/phrases (or complete elements of hyphenated compounds)
> Regular expression searches may highlight complete node words/phrases as well as parts of words if desirable
Query adjustment options (executed with the Apply!!! button):
> two-tier sorting by node, left and right context
> queries can be made case-sensitive on demand
> the width of the left and/or right context can be enlarged/reduced
> Exclude box in the Search results window allows stopping a node word/phrase (multiple stop words/phrases are separated by commas without spaces)
> restricted version only: line annotation boxes can be generated for manual marking of lines
Clicking on the line number to the left of a given concordance line opens a wider context view.
