Phonology

Expanding upon last year’s morphonology session, this year we would like to broaden the area of investigation and propose a return to the question of the position and the role of phonology within grammar as a modular system.

In particular, we welcome papers dealing with one or more of the following interfaces:


Finally, of special interest are the relations between the lexicon and phonology, and the interdepen-dency of representation and derivation.

Below are but a few exemplary issues we would welcome during the discussion:


Of course, phonological papers from outside this scope are also welcome.

At this stage the following scholars have confirmed their participation in the session: Nikolaus Ritt (Vienna), Jerzy Rubach (Iowa and Warsaw), Tobias Scheer (Nice), and Rajendra Singh (Montreal).

General PLM 2006 guidelines for submitting abstracts, as well as the standard presentation time apply.

The deadline for submitting abstracts has been extended. Please send your abstracts to grzegorzifa.amu.edu.pl or plmifa.amu.edu.pl.
Submission deadline: 15 February 2006.
Notification of acceptance: 15 March 2006.
