The 35th Poznań Linguistic Meeting was organised by the School of English, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland. PLM2004 took place on 18-20 May 2004 at the Hotel 500 in Tarnowo Podgórne near Poznań.

 

The Meeting was organised in association with the Poznań College of Modern Languages (Wyższa Szkoła Języków Obcych). The Minister of National Education and Sport was the honorary patron of PLM2004.

 

The leitmotif of this edition was Linguistics for the Future. The Meeting immediately followed the 13th Annual Conference of the Polish Association for the Study of English (PASE), also organised by our School, which took place on 16-18 May, 2004. There was a joint session in the afternoon of 18 May.

The joint PASE/PLM session will be:

 

 

"The model of English pronunciation for foreign learners: three dictionaries, one model?"

 

A panel discussion chaired by Jacek Fisiak and Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk. The invited speakers are: Peter Roach, Peter Trudgill, Clive Upton, John Wells, Włodzimierz Sobkowiak and Joanna Przedlacka.
